Accessibility Statement

1. Our commitment

Aclean Steamers is committed to making acleansteamers.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III. Accessibility is part of our quality standard, not an afterthought.

2. Standards we follow

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the website. Level AA is the standard referenced in ADA Title III complaints and is the baseline most state accessibility laws follow. We aim to meet or exceed it on every new page.

3. Features implemented

Our website includes:

Semantic HTML5 landmarks. Proper use of <nav>, <main>, <section>, <article>, <footer>.
A skip-link that lets keyboard users jump past the header directly to main content.
Full keyboard navigation. Every interactive element is reachable with Tab and operable with Enter or Space.
Visible focus indicators. We never suppress the default focus outline without replacing it.
Sufficient color contrast. Body text meets 4.5:1 against its background; large text meets 3:1.
Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images are marked alt="" so screen readers skip them.
Proper heading hierarchy. One H1 per page, nested H2/H3 for structure.
ARIA attributes used only where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
prefers-reduced-motion support. Animations are respected or reduced when your device requests it.
Responsive design with readable text down to a 320px viewport width.

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working on them:

Third-party embeds. The booking widget and review gallery are provided by external services. We cannot directly control their accessibility level, but we have chosen providers whose products claim WCAG compliance. We monitor their accessibility and will replace providers that regress.
PDFs. If we add PDF downloads in the future (service agreements, invoices), we will ensure they are tagged for screen readers and meet PDF/UA requirements.
Image-heavy pages. Our testimonial and gallery pages include photos. All photos carry descriptive alt text; when video is added later, we will provide captions.

5. We do not use accessibility overlays

We do not use accessibility overlays, widgets, or automated "AI accessibility" tools. Overlays create accessibility barriers and legal liability rather than reducing them. Real accessibility requires coding the page right in the first place, which is what we do.

6. How to report an issue

If you find an accessibility problem on this website (a page you cannot read, a form you cannot submit, content you cannot hear), tell us so we can fix it.

We respond to accessibility reports within 5 business days with a fix or a realistic timeline for one.

7. Annual review

We review this accessibility statement annually or when significant website changes are deployed. Our next scheduled review is April 2027, calculated as 12 months from the effective date above.
