Carpet cleaning in Raleigh is the hot-water extraction process that pulls embedded soil, pine pollen, pet dander, and traffic pattern wear out of wall-to-wall carpet. Heated water under pressure breaks the bond between soil and fiber, then immediately extracts it before damp residue can settle back in. Raleigh homes track in pine pollen and soft red soil that bind to carpet fibers more aggressively than dry dirt, so professional cleaning every twelve to eighteen months keeps carpet ahead of premature fiber wear across Cary, Apex, Durham, and Chapel Hill.

Expert carpet cleaning in Raleigh

Deep carpet cleaning in Raleigh for bedrooms, hallways, and full-house jobs. Eco-safe, kid- and pet-safe.

  • Commercial-grade hot water extraction

Our commercial portable extractor runs hotter and at higher pressure than any rental machine, lifting soil out of the pile and backing.

  • Spot and stain treatment

Wine, coffee, ink, and pet accidents handled with stain-specific protocols before the main pass.

  • Pet odor neutralization

Enzyme treatment for urine reaches the pad below the carpet, where the smell actually lives.

  • Carpet protector application

Optional repellent finish reduces re-soiling and gives you longer between cleanings.

Carpet extraction across the Triangle is a year-round service for us, with peak demand in late spring after pollen season and early fall after summer humidity.

What can you expect from a professional
carpet cleaning service

  • Why DIY carpet cleaning goes wrong

A rental machine over-wets the pile, so soil wicks back up as it dries and the carpet re-soils fast. Hot tap water sets protein stains instead of lifting them. We pre-vacuum first to pull out about 80% of the soil as dry grit, then extract.

  • Furniture moving included

Light furniture moved as part of the job. Large pieces stay put and we clean around them.

  • Edge cleaning

Hand tools work the carpet edges and corners that the wand cannot reach.

  • Drying in 6 to 12 hours

Most carpet dries in 6 to 12 hours; our Fast Dry air movers bring it to about 4 to 8. Damp weather or heavy soil can run longer. Light walking is fine within a couple of hours.

  • Fabrics and soils we handle

Durable nylon and polyester take full heat. Olefin holds oily soil and can glaze if overheated, so we control the heat. Wool gets a pH-neutral, lower-temperature pass, and jute backing browns when over-wet, so it stays low-moisture.

  • On-time arrival window

A confirmed 60-minute window when you book. No "between 8 and 5" guesswork.

Multi-room carpet jobs across Cary, Apex, Morrisville, and Durham routinely complete in a single visit, including stair flights and area rugs in the same appointment.

We pre-vacuum first

About 80% of carpet soil is dry grit. We pull it out before any water touches the carpet, so it never turns to mud.

Dedicated neutralizing rinse

Every job finishes with a rinse pass that removes detergent residue, which is what makes carpet re-soil fast.

Method matched to your fiber

Full heat on durable nylon, oil-cutting on olefin, gentle low-temperature handling on wool. Not one-size-fits-all.

Commercial portable extractor

Hotter water and higher pressure than a rental machine, brought right to your room. Portable pro equipment, never truck-mount.

Raleigh carpet wears differently than carpet anywhere else. Oakwood bungalows, Mordecai cottages, and Boylan Heights row homes still have their original wall-to-wall carpet in bedrooms and second-floor halls. Decades of red clay from gardens, pollen from oak season, and pine sap from sidewalk trees end up in the traffic lanes. We bring commercial portable hot-water extraction that reaches past the fiber into the backing and the pad, and we adjust the protocol for the fiber type and the soil load on each job. Triangle tap water also runs moderately hard, so leftover detergent binds with the minerals and clings to the pile, which speeds up re-soiling; our dedicated neutralizing rinse pass flushes that residue out, the step a rental machine skips. Pricing stays simple: stairs run about $6 per step and a landing is $15 to $25, and every visit has a $200 minimum that most homes reach by combining a few rooms, hallways, and stairs into one trip.

I cleaned my first sofa in 2012 in Kyiv. After ten years and a place among the top three furniture cleaning companies in the city, I moved to North Carolina in 2022 and brought the same standards with me. Every job in Raleigh starts with a careful inspection. I keep the 14-day re-clean guarantee in writing because I believe you should not pay twice for the same work.

How we clean carpet in Raleigh

Fiber-aware hot water extraction with portable professional equipment. Pre-vacuum and a neutralizing rinse on every job.

  1. 1

    Inspect and color-test

We check fiber type, soiling, and problem zones, and color-test a hidden area before any water touches the carpet.

  2. 2

    Pre-vacuum

We vacuum out dry grit first. About 80% of carpet soil is dry, and removing it before water is what prevents mud and residue.

  3. 3

    Pre-spray and dwell

An eco-friendly shampoo with enzymes is applied and left to dwell, with chemistry matched to your fiber (gentler on wool and olefin).

  4. 4

    Spot treatment

Free spot treatment matched to the stain: enzyme for protein and pet, oxidizer for organic, degreaser for oil.

  5. 5

    Hot water extraction

We extract with a portable professional unit at fiber-safe heat to lift embedded soil, with no high-heat steam that could shrink or glaze fibers.

  6. 6

    Neutralizing rinse

A dedicated rinse pass removes leftover cleaning residue, so the carpet does not re-soil quickly.

  7. 7

    Groom and dry

We groom the pile and can set up air movers to speed drying. Standard dry time is 6 to 12 hours by fiber and airflow.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about professional carpet cleaning in Raleigh.

How much does professional carpet cleaning cost?

Carpet cleaning starts at $200, which is our service minimum. After that, pricing is per square foot for the area covered, with rates that vary by carpet type and condition. Bedrooms, hallways, stairs, and combined living areas all calculate the same way. Heavily soiled traffic patterns and pet-affected zones may carry a documented add-on rate for extra treatment, but it is shown on the quote before any work begins. The price you confirm over text or phone is the price on the door. No surprise charges for visible stains or heavy soiling we find on arrival.

How long until I can walk on the carpet after cleaning?

Light foot traffic is fine within 2 to 4 hours after cleaning if you wear clean socks. The carpet is fully dry in about 6 to 12 hours under normal conditions, and roughly 4 to 8 hours with our Fast Dry add-on (high-velocity air movers) or in dry summer weather with the AC running. In the fall shoulder season, high indoor humidity, poor airflow, or on heavily soiled carpet that needs more water, it can take up to 24 hours. Pet paws and shoes should wait until the carpet is dry to avoid pulling fresh soil into damp fibers. Furniture stays off the carpet until the backing underneath is dry, so allow the full standard time before sliding the couch back into place.

Can you remove pet urine, vomit, and other pet stains from carpet?

Yes. Pet stains are one of the most common carpet cleaning requests and we handle them as part of a standard cleaning, not a separate service. We use a two-step enzymatic treatment that breaks down the urine crystals in the carpet fiber and the pad beneath, then steam-extract everything. For accidents that have soaked all the way through to the subfloor, the treatment reaches into the pad where the odor source lives. Most carpets clean up fully, including the smell. Severely contaminated areas on light beige carpet may show a faint shadow even after complete odor removal.

How often should I have my carpet professionally cleaned?

Every 12 to 18 months for an average household. Twice a year for homes with kids, pets, or anyone with allergies. Once every 6 to 9 months for high-traffic main floors and rental properties between tenants. Vacuuming weekly extends the life of the carpet but cannot reach the dust mites, dander, and soil trapped deep in the fiber. Manufacturer warranties on most synthetic carpets require professional cleaning at least every 18 months to remain valid, so save the invoice if you ever need to make a claim.

What is wicking and why did my stain come back?

Wicking is when a stain reappears a day or two after cleaning. It happens when too much water is used: as the carpet dries, moisture travels up from the backing and pad and pulls soil back to the surface along with it. Over-wetting is the cause, so we prevent it the way it should be prevented. We use controlled moisture rather than flooding the carpet, finish with a neutralizing rinse that removes the detergent residue soil clings to, and place air movers to dry the pile fast. If a deep stain ever does resurface, a single follow-up pass usually settles it for good.

Is it safe for wool carpet?

Yes, with the right approach. Wool needs a gentler hand than synthetic carpet, so we clean it with a pH-neutral solution, lower temperature, and minimal moisture, then groom and dry it carefully to protect against browning. We always run a colorfast test on a hidden area first, because some wool dyes can move. The one honest exception is wool that is already severely damaged, badly worn, felted, or rotted, where cleaning could make it worse. In that case we tell you upfront and may decline rather than risk the rug.

Why does Raleigh carpet need more frequent cleaning?

Triangle homes track in pine pollen, soft red soil from yards, and fine particulate from spring storm cycles that all bind aggressively to carpet fibers. Synthetic carpet fibers in particular hold onto sticky pine pollen long after vacuuming. Skipping professional cleaning past eighteen months in a Raleigh home shows in traffic patterns sooner than in drier climates. Most carpet manufacturer warranties also require professional cleaning every eighteen months to remain valid.

How long does carpet cleaning take?

Most jobs run 60 to 120 minutes depending on square footage and soiling level. A single bedroom takes about 30 minutes, a living room with hallway about an hour, and a full main floor often two hours. Stairs add roughly 15 to 20 minutes per flight. We always book a 60-minute arrival window so you know when the technician shows up, and we text a tighter ETA on the day. Spot treatment for heavy stains and pet zones runs alongside the main extraction rather than adding a second visit.

What method do you use to clean carpet?

Hot-water extraction, sometimes called steam cleaning, is our primary method. The system injects heated water under pressure deep into the carpet pile, breaks the bond between soil and fiber, then immediately extracts everything to the recovery tank. This is the method recommended by every major carpet manufacturer including Shaw and Mohawk, and it is required to keep your warranty valid. The alternative methods like dry powder cleaning and bonnet cleaning leave residue in the fiber and only address the surface. We do not use rotary shampoo methods that can over-wet the backing.

Do you move furniture?

Light furniture, yes. Coffee tables, end tables, small chairs, and ottomans we move ourselves and put back when we finish. Sofas, sectionals, beds, dressers, and china cabinets stay put, we just clean around them. If you want the carpet under heavy furniture cleaned, move those pieces out of the room before we arrive and we will get the full floor. Drop cloths come with the technician to protect anything we cannot lift. Breakables, electronics, and floor lamps should be moved off the floor by you before the appointment.

Do you clean stairs and area rugs along with the carpet?

Yes. Stairs we charge per flight because they take longer than flat carpet at the same square footage. Area rugs on top of wall-to-wall carpet we clean in place using the same extraction system, after testing for colorfastness if the rug is wool or oriental. Wall-to-wall is our specialty but we also offer a separate area rug service for rugs that need off-site treatment. If you have both in the same room and want everything cleaned together, mention it when you book so we can quote the full job at once.

How is hot-water extraction different from true steam?

People call our method steam cleaning, but it is hot-water extraction. We push hot water under pressure into the carpet pile, break the bond between soil and fiber, and extract it right back out in the same pass. A true steam generator runs at 150 degrees Celsius and up, and that level of heat risks shrinking and glazing the fiber, especially olefin and wool. We deliberately do not use one. Hot water plus immediate extraction gets the carpet genuinely clean without the heat damage, which is why it is the method most carpet makers recommend.

Do you clean carpet across Wake County, Durham, and Chapel Hill?

Yes. Carpet cleaning service covers Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Wake Forest, Morrisville, Durham, Chapel Hill, Garner, and Knightdale at our standard residential rates with no travel surcharge. Larger commercial floors in Research Triangle Park and surrounding office parks fall under our commercial pricing tier. We confirm whether residential or commercial rates apply during the on-site walkthrough or over the phone before any work begins.
