Area rug cleaning in Charlotte is the controlled extraction of soil, dust, red clay particulate, and embedded allergens from wool, synthetic, oriental, and Persian rugs. Most pieces clean on-site using the same approach as wall-to-wall carpet, with off-site treatment available for hand-knotted and antique rugs that need flushing on both faces. Charlotte's Piedmont humidity holds moisture in rug pads through summer, encouraging dust mite populations, so professional cleaning every twelve to eighteen months keeps the full assembly fresh across Concord, Huntersville, Matthews, Pineville, and Fort Mill.
Eco-safe rug cleaning for handmade and machine-made rugs across Charlotte and the metro suburbs.
Myers Park traditionals carry hand-knotted Persians; Ballantyne new builds favor large machine-woven naturals; SouthPark townhomes split between silk-blend statements and tufted wool. Each gets the lowest-moisture protocol the fiber will tolerate.
Charlotte-area homes track Carolina red clay across rugs from yards in Mint Hill, Concord, and Indian Trail. Enzyme treatment for urine and a clay-targeted protocol for the iron oxide silt the rest of the country does not see at this scale.
pH-balanced cleaners and a hidden-corner pre-test before any cleaner touches the field. Vegetable-dyed antiques common in Dilworth historic restorations get a solvent method when water would lift pigment.
Free pickup and return across Charlotte, Matthews, Pineville, Huntersville, Concord, and Mint Hill for shop jobs that need full submersion, fringe repair, or controlled flat-drying.
We have cleaned hundreds of area rugs in the Charlotte metro, including hand-knotted and antique pieces that require off-site flushing at our facility.

Service minimum $200 per visit.
On-site cleaning. Off-site only for wool, silk, antique, and heirloom rugs.
Wool, silk, cotton, polyester, viscose, jute. Each gets a different method. We confirm the fiber on your great-room floor in Ballantyne before any water comes off the truck.
Neutral pH for wool, dry-cleaning solvent for silk, mild detergent for synthetics. Wrong cleaner on a hand-knotted Persian from a Myers Park estate lifts dye and shrinks the foundation; we have rebuilt enough of them to know.
Silk and silk-blend rugs get a controlled hand wash off-site rather than water extraction in your home. Most Charlotte silks come back from the shop in 10 to 14 business days.
Wool stretches if dried hung, especially through summer humidity in the Charlotte metro. We dry flat indoors in our climate-controlled shop or on a clean indoor surface at your home.
Frayed cotton bindings on antique imports common in Dilworth and Eastover bungalows get repaired before cleaning so they do not unravel under water. Repair priced separately if needed.
Crushed traffic lanes from open-floor-plan rug-to-hardwood transitions in newer Ballantyne and Mint Hill builds get a finishing comb or dry brush to restore pile direction and texture.
Off-site rug cleaning across Charlotte has a five to seven business day turnaround from pickup in Concord, Huntersville, or Matthews back to delivery at your door.

The price we quote is the price you pay. A $200 visit minimum, reached by combining items, and no hidden fees.
Sturdy wool and synthetic rugs are cleaned in your home. Delicate rugs go to our off-site workshop, never wet-cleaned in place.
About 80% of what is in a rug is dry grit. We beat and dust it out before any water, the step most cleaners skip.
We test a hidden spot before any wet work. A rug that bleeds goes off-site or is declined, never cleaned in-home.
Silk, viscose, antique, and oriental rugs are washed off-site under controlled humidity, a 10 to 14 business-day cycle.

Charlotte condo and townhome residents tend to own the kind of rugs that justify professional cleaning. Uptown high-rises and SouthPark townhomes anchor their floor plans on a single statement rug, often handmade wool, Persian knots, silk blends, or hand-tufted cotton. We see the fibers wear differently in Carolina humidity than in drier climates, and we match the cleaning method to the fiber on every job. Most rugs clean on-site; the ones that need shop submersion, fringe repair, or controlled flat-drying space come back in 10 to 14 business days.
I cleaned my first sofa in 2012 in Kyiv. After ten years and a place among the top three furniture cleaning companies in the city, I moved to North Carolina in 2022 and brought the same standards with me. Every job in Charlotte starts with a careful inspection. I keep the 14-day re-clean guarantee in writing because I believe you should not pay twice for the same work.
Maintained, calibrated, and ready for every job in Charlotte.
Every inch inspected and properly cleaned, every time.
If you're not fully satisfied, we come back at no charge.

We use commercial-grade equipment and proven methods to deliver deeper, safer, and longer-lasting cleaning results.
Most cleaning companies rent their gear from the hardware store. We don't. Every job runs on commercial-grade equipment built for daily professional use, with the method matched to the material: hot-water extraction for carpet and upholstery, controlled low-moisture cleaning for mattresses, and hand cleaning and conditioning for leather. The same professional setup we've used since 2012, maintained weekly, calibrated for every fabric type.
Fiber-first cleaning. Sturdy rugs in your home, delicate and handmade rugs in our workshop.
We confirm it is an area rug, identify the fiber and backing, and flag handmade, antique, silk, or jute rugs that must be cleaned off-site.
Mandatory before any water, especially on orientals and dark rugs. A rug that bleeds goes off-site or is declined.
We beat and dust both sides first. About 80% of what is in a rug is dry grit, and this is the step most cleaners skip.
We pre-spray soiled zones and use enzyme treatment for pet urine and organic stains.
Hot water extraction for synthetics and sturdy wool, low-moisture or off-site immersion for silk, viscose, antique, and oriental rugs.
We rinse so no residue is left, then extract the moisture in-home or by centrifuge in our workshop.
In-home rugs dry flat or hung with fans in about 6 to 12 hours. Off-site rugs dry in a humidity-controlled room as part of a 10 to 14 business-day cycle.

Answers to common questions about professional rug cleaning in Charlotte.
Area rug cleaning starts at $200, our service minimum across all work. After that, pricing is per square foot and varies by rug type. Wool, oriental, Persian, and antique rugs sit at the higher end because they need careful handling. Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, nylon, polyester) clean at the lower end. We measure the rug on arrival and confirm the price before any work begins. No surprise upcharge for stains or pet contamination we find. Specialty rugs like silk or hand-knotted may need off-site treatment, which we quote separately if it applies.
Yes. Wool rugs need a specific approach: cool water, pH-neutral cleaning solution, and gentle agitation to prevent the wool fibers from felting or shrinking. We test every wool rug for colorfastness on a hidden corner before cleaning the visible surface, because some natural dyes can bleed if treated wrong. Hand-knotted oriental and Persian rugs are cleaned with the lowest-moisture method available, often off-site, and dried flat to prevent backing distortion. We do not use rotary scrubbers, harsh degreasers, or high-pressure jets on wool, all of which can permanently damage the fiber.
On-site cleaning takes 60 to 90 minutes for an average room-size rug, longer for oversized or heavily soiled ones. We book a 60-minute arrival window and text a tighter ETA on the day. Off-site cleaning has a ten to fourteen business day turnaround from pickup to delivery, sometimes longer for hand-knotted rugs that need to dry flat for several days. We confirm the timeline at pickup. If you need a rug back urgently for an event or houseguests, mention it when scheduling and we can usually find a faster path.
Not under proper handling. Every rug we clean gets a colorfastness test on a hidden corner before the cleaning starts. Most modern synthetic rugs are completely colorfast. Hand-dyed wool, oriental, and antique rugs sometimes have unstable dyes, and if a test shows bleeding risk we adjust the method (cooler water, neutralizing rinse, or off-site treatment) to control it. If a rug is truly dye-unstable, we tell you before any work starts so you can decide. Faint surface fade from sunlight or age is permanent and not affected by cleaning either direction.
They are two different services. An area rug is a standalone piece we clean fiber-first: we identify the material, then either clean it in your home for sturdy wool and synthetic rugs or take it off-site for silk, viscose, antique, and oriental rugs that need to be flushed front and back and dried flat. Wall-to-wall carpet is fixed to the floor over a pad, so it gets our in-home hot-water extraction carpet service instead. If you have both, mention it when you book and we will quote each correctly rather than treating one like the other.
Piedmont humidity holds moisture in rug pads underneath, encouraging dust mite populations beneath the visible surface. Red clay particulate works through rug fibers over years, especially on lighter-colored synthetic rugs. Households with pets compound this through tracked-in clay and dander. Annual rug cleaning is a reasonable minimum cadence for Charlotte homes. Allergy households or homes with multiple pets often benefit from cleaning every six to nine months.
Most rugs we clean on-site in your home, which is faster and avoids transport. Synthetic rugs, machine-made wool rugs, and small flat-weave rugs all clean cleanly in place. For hand-knotted oriental rugs, antique rugs, silk rugs, and any rug with heavy pet contamination or musty smell from a damp basement, we recommend off-site cleaning at our facility because the rug needs to be flushed front and back and dried flat. We pick up the rug, clean it, and deliver it back, usually within five to seven business days.
Yes. Pet urine in a rug is one of the most common requests. Standard on-site cleaning with the two-step enzymatic treatment works for most fresh accidents. For older urine that has soaked through the rug and into the backing or the floor underneath, we recommend off-site treatment so the rug can be flushed front and back, and the affected backing fully treated. Surface cleaning alone does not reach the urine trapped in the backing layer. Off-site cleaning includes a urine extraction soak which neutralizes the source rather than just masking the smell.
On-site cleaning has the same 6 to 12 hour standard dry time, faster with the quick-dry add-on. The rug stays where it is during drying, so just keep heavy traffic off it and pets away if possible. Off-site cleaning dries longer because the rug is flushed more thoroughly, usually one to three days laid flat in our facility, and the rug comes back to you fully dry and ready to lay down. Either way, the rug is dry to the touch before it goes back into your space.
Yes if requested. Rug pads collect the same dust, dander, and spills as the rug above them, just without the visible color to show it. We can clean the pad in place with light extraction or replace it if it has degraded (most pads last five to seven years before the foam breaks down). The hard floor underneath we wipe clean of any moisture and debris before laying the rug back. If the floor itself needs deeper cleaning, mention it when booking and we can quote the full job together.
Yes. Area rug cleaning service covers Concord, Huntersville, Matthews, Pineville, Mint Hill, Davidson, Cornelius, and Fort Mill at standard rates. Most rugs we clean on-site in your home. For hand-knotted oriental, antique, silk, or heavily contaminated rugs that need off-site treatment, we pick up the rug, clean it at our facility, and deliver it back, typically within five to seven business days.
